“Come to me all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you
and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is
light.” Matthew 11:28-30
We are called to take care of one another, to share each others’ burdens. In our Baptism we, like Christ,
have been anointed to bring good news to the poor, to proclaim release to the captives, to proclaim recovery of sight to the blind,
and to let the oppressed go free. (Luke 4:18)
When we care for each other it is not so much to fix problems as it is to be fully present,
to listen and to pray. No burden is too small, no despair too deep.
In addition to intercessory prayer on Sundays when we pray
for those on our prayer list by name, The Rev. Dr. Martha Tucker is committed to calling on any one who so desires a visit, a prayer,
a blessing. Alternatively, call the office to schedule a time to come visit here at Christ Church.
We offer home Eucharist to
those who are unable to attend our Sunday service.
Martha would love to know about and pray for comfort and healing for any surgeries,
diagnoses, anxieties, with which you might be struggling and will keep any such concerns confidential. She may be reached at 610-715-1840
call the office at 860-364-5260 if you would like a visit or to be put on the parish prayer list.
